Polish saber, wz. 34, so called "ludwikówka".
Steel, brass, wood, no scabbard.
Weight of the saber: 900 g.
Overall length: 95.5 cm, blade length: 82.5 cm.
Stamped at the base on the back: "in oval K / 2 and A 85 24", on the outer lobe no: "S.wz.34", on the inner lobe: "H.LUDWIK / KIELCE".
Original handle with a grip made of beech wood facings, with notches. Facings fixed with two steel screws with brass nuts. Mustached brass hilt, with a hole for a sling at the end of its back shoulder. Steel head, ground on both sides.
Condition of preservation: the scabbard is missing. The head slightly covered with corrosion tarnish and patina, broken and secondarily welded.
Piece history: the saber was broken and buried after the outbreak of WW2. In 1956 it was dug up and re-welded. Information regarding the original owner will be provided directly to the winner of the auction.
