To the left of the frame is the manufacturer's address and patent dates in two lines "REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAY3d NOV. 15th 1864 APRIL 17th 1866" on the right an inspector's mark "F.CW" (Frank C. Warner) under P. Barrel and frame blue, bluing faint in places, some patina and spotting. Dark brown wooden grip shrouds (slightly damaged) and fore-end of the same material. Very rare. United States after 1870.Condition 2+

The top of the barrel at the breech has naval inspection markings "H.E. (Henry Erben)/anchor", and "4373" is marked on the bottom of the barrel. The left side of the frame has "REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAY3d NOV. 15th 1864 APRIL 17th 1866" marking, and the right side has the naval inspection marking "P/F.C.W." (Frank C. Warner) ahead of the smooth walnut forearm.
