Pair of naval flintlock pistols in silver mount by Royet Freres

Smooth brass barrels, octagonal in the chamber area, passing through the ring to cylindrical, ending at the muzzle with a cannon ring. The octagonal part has three upper surfaces decorated with engravings of trophies and ripples. The flintlock, plain arched brass lock plates are marked 'Royet Freres'. The silver embossed fittings with hallmarks (Lyon 1775 - 1780) are sparingly decorated with engraving, the shoes embossed with semi-figures of warriors. Wooden chargers with brass plungers. France, St. Etienne circa 1780, length 34 cm each. Condition 2+
