Military police/military police epaulette of the Russian Federation. The flag and inscription have been embroidered permanently, the epaulette also has changeable patches of "ВП" (Военная Полиция) and "MP" (Military Police).
Unprotected Russian convoys have become one of the typical features of the first phase of the war. Military police, as a supporting unit, theoretically do not need to be on the front line. Due to staff shortages and a panicky attempt to secure its own supply lines, the gendarmerie often found itself ambushed by Ukrainian forces when it protected convoys of fuel and ammunition. The convoys were cut off by special forces and Ukraine's territorial defenses along the entire length of the front from the border itself, where the Gendarmerie was in theory supposed to guard captured, secured and peaceful areas.
This Gendarmerie ended its service northeast of Kiev on the section to Chernichiv.
Donated, along with other VDW memorabilia, by a Polish volunteer fighting as part of the International Legion of Ukraine in the defense of the northwestern section of Kyiv (Bucza - Irpin-Hostomel) in March-April 2022
