Katana with a blade length of 65.4 cm, in full Koshirae frame, unsigned. Sword of the Shinto period, Edo era, circa 1661. Massive head with a substantial width of 3.10 cm. The line of hardening (hamon) is choji gunome midare. Noteworthy is the high artistic quality of the metal parts of the sword frame. Everything indicates that they are made by a single master, who made the signature on the Fuchi collar: SOYO + Kao. This artist belonged to the second most famous family of masters (after the Goto family - although the disputes do not stop) of sword elements, the YOKOYA family (they existed for several generations). The sword was issued an NTHK (Nihon Token Hozon Kai) Certificate attributing the making of the sword to a swordsmith using the signature Higo (no) Kami KUNIYASU. A Certificate of Sale dated August 2005 was also issued for the sword. It is not the same as the NTHK certificate, but it allows the buyer (who does not know Japanese) to better understand the characteristics of the sword. The sword is completely polished.
Note: the sword is very sharp.
