height 4.5 cm, width 4.3 cm
The "Warsaw Uprising Cross" badge, the "For Killing an SS Officer in Combat" badge, the Warsaw Uprising Cross or the Informal Warsaw Uprising Badge (all conventional names) - an unofficial military decoration probably of the Chrobry II Grouping awarded to Polish soldiers for courage and special merits during Polish-German fighting during the Warsaw Uprising.
The Cross was produced by reworking the German Iron Cross in such a way that a 1 zloty coin from 1929 with the Anchor of the Polish Underground State engraved on the eagle's chest and the date] was attached to its obverse.
The badge of the Cross was hung on the ribbon of the Cross of Valor, the right stripe of which was dyed red[1].
Subsequent awarding of the Cross was marked by placing a plain silver ferrule horizontally on the ribbon[1].
Neither the number nor the names of the decorated are known.
