Katana sword with a blade length of 78.4 cm in a shira-saya only setting. The termination of the shank indicates that it was once shortened, so the sword was once even longer. This would indicate that originally the sword was a Tachi type rather than a katana. The lack of a signature makes it impossible to make a definite statement. Suguha-type hamon, in the form of an almost equal line. Hada - Itace. The sword is accompanied by a handwritten certificate signed by a member of Japan's top sword appraising family, Hon-Ami. The document is undoubtedly authentic, dating from the late 19th century. The sword was recognized as a sword of the Rai Kunitoshi school, from the Kamakura period, and is therefore a sword of the Koto category. This is also stated by the sayagaki calligraphed on the hilt.
