The skeleton of the kesa helmet is made of bamboo, and is covered with a brown shiny lacquer on top, with a partially textured pattern. The inside of the jingasa, according to tradition, is covered with red-orange lacquer in hue, and the rim is gilded. This helmet also has a tehen (on which you can see a small overcut - probably a testament to the fact that it was used in battle), and a ring for attaching the hwost (agemaki). The thing that draws the most attention, however, is the beautiful mon tomoe.
18th century
Dimensions of the helmet: 315 x 340 x 120 mm.
