FRANCE, 19th century, Infantry officer's saber, wz. 1842/52

Length of bare saber: 89 cm. Head length: 75 cm. Wooden handle, without braid. Tailpiece made of gilded bronze, half basket. State of preservation 2/2. Head corroded.
Weight of the saber: 0.67 kg. Provenance: The saber found in the manor buildings in Suchedniów. In the collection of "Forum Anticum" since the 1970s. It may have been in the armament of the Dawidowicz brothers' unit during the January Uprising.
