Hand closed, steel frame. Tailpiece made of flat bar, sigmoid, basket-shaped, openwork, with the Prussian emblem on the outer hinged shield. The inner shield set similarly. In the upper part of the basket a slot for a sling. Shank of dark rubber compound cracked, transversely fluted, with additional finger projection. Shank seated in a ring at the hilt, with a short cap at the top, fastened with a nut on the shank. Head of steel, nickel-plated, straight. Profiled on both sides in a single groove, reaching a long, double-edged feather. The hilt is symmetrical. On the outer lobe rich etched decoration and Gothic inscription "2 Garde Ulanen Regl." On the inner side an etched panoply, a scene with a lancer's charge and the star of the Order of the Black Eagle. Above the eagle the Latin inscription "Suum Cuique" (To each what is due). On the outer sill, under the cap, the maker's signature "Weyersberg & Kirschbaum".
