STEYR 1886" next to the monogram "LI" under the royal crown, further towards the stock the model designation "M 1886". The stock is stamped on both sides, on the left in a circle "LI" under the royal crown (King Louis I), on the right the stamp is illegible. Condition 1-, SN Z765 (barrel and frame), a bolt SN AA593, 8x60R cal., 32" barrel with bright shiny bore with strong rifling. The left side of the receiver is marked OE.W.F.G. STEYR over 1886 followed by the Portuguese crest followed by M1886. 8-round internal tube magazine rifle. The round Portuguese issue and acceptance stamps are visible on the left and right butt. Steyr, Austria 1886, 52" long overall. Metal finish: 85% bluing, started to turn brown, no rust. Crown over LI stamp, identifying it as the property of King Louis of Portugal Portugese Contract Rifle designed by Alfred Kropatschek. Condition 1-
