Lot description
The revolver is derived from the Austrian army revolver Gasser, model 1870. No serial number. Octagonal blue barrel, length 15,2 cm, calibre 10 mm, four grooves, bore with mirror polish. Signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co / NEW BOND STREET LONDON' on the left side of the barrel. Fixed sights. DA, six-sided cylinder, charging flap to right. Drop handle with walnut shanks roughened with herringbone. Hanging ring. Bluing 50% preserved, partially patinated brown. In original oak wood case lined inside with blue felt, paper label (Westley Richards) on inside of lid, tin oil bottle and dial retained from accessories. Dimensions 2 x 6 x 18 cm.Condition 2

Condition 2, A design is derived from an Austrian army revolver Gasser M1870, no S/N. 6" octagonal grooved barrel with mirror like bore and blued finish, cal. 10 mm. Tall fixed front and rear sights in dovetail notches. Upper left angled barrel flat stamped WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co, left flat stamped NEW BOND STREET LONDON. Birmingham commercial proof marks throughout. Double action, 6-shot. Checkered bag-shaped walnut grips with crisp checkering, lanyard ring in butt. United Kingdom, London circa 1875, overall length 27 cm. Revolver is contained in an English oak casing with divided compartments and a dark blue baize lining. Includes a reproduction Westley Richards paper retailer label in the lid, a brass tipped wood cleaning rod and a small pewter oiler. Dimensions 32 x 6 x 18 cm.Condition 2+
