octagonal, plain, brown barrels of 15 mm calibre, signed "Boutet et fils / à Versailles" Engraved tongues of bottom screws with steel visor. Flintlocks signed 'Boutet / et fils/ à Versailles', engraved with floral motifs and fitted with watertight pans and brasses with bell. Three-quarter length stocks with herringbone handles, iron matching engraved garniture. France, Versailles, circa 1810, each pistol 37 cm long. In a wooden case lined with purple velvet, complete with all tools in good condition. Original key. Dimensions 49 x 7.5 x 25 cm. Pierre-Nicolas Boutet (1789-1816), son of Nicolas Noël Boutet, worked with his father in the Versailles manufactory from 1804 until his death in 1816. He had no mark of his own and signed only with his father 'Boutet et fils' (Der Neue Stöckel, vol. I, p. 134).
