Octagonal rifled barrel of 13 mm calibre transitions to cylindrical barrel, on the upper rail partly brass fly sliding in herringbone, steel sight. Birmingham test marks on the lower part of the barrel. The chamber and bottom bolt area are decorated with engraved ripples. The engraved percussion lock is signed 'Hollis & Sons'. Walnut stock, alpaca fittings, inch plate blank, handle fitted with herringbone. Wooden charger with horn blowpipe.England, 1st half of the 19th century, length 20 cm. Housed in a wooden case covered with purple velvet together with a powder magazine and a pair of tongs for casting bullets, label on the lid. Dimensions of the cassette 23 x 6 x 16 cm. Almost identical gun was auctioned at Rock Island Auctions on 30.4.2010.
