The painting was presented at the artist's exhibition held at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw in May 1922.

Stanisław Podgórski - landscape painter; student of Jan Stanisławski and Leon Wyczółkowski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1901-05 and 1907-09). He continued his studies in Paris and Italy. He belonged to the Society of Polish Artists "Art". In the interwar period he exhibited a lot, taking part, among other things, in shows of Polish art abroad. Since 1926 he was the artistic director of the Art House in Lviv. He spent the war and the years up to 1948 in the USSR, after returning to Poland he settled permanently in Wiśnicz.
He painted landscapes - foothills, Tatra Mountains, Ukraine - which were characterized by decorativeness. He was also fond of painting motifs of parks and gardens full of multicolored flowers and lush greenery. His paintings, with their bright vivid colors, richness of color and peculiar stylization, are set in the tradition of the Cracow school of landscape painting.
