Otto Scheuerer (1862–1934), a German artist and brother of the painter Julius Scheuerer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Karl Raupp. He painted landscapes, but above all he was an animal painter—he depicted poultry as well as wild birds—pheasants, black grouse, and capercaillies against a landscape backdrop. He also painted moose, roe deer, and other game animals. The artist’s paintings, often found on the art market, remain popular to this day.
