A very interesting set consisting of decorations, medals, awards and press clippings that are mementos of Professor Alfons Klafkowski.
The set includes memorabilia related to almost every aspect of the professor's life - activity in ZBOWiD, cooperation with PAX, cooperation with the Western Institute, etc.
Professor Alfons Klafkowski was born in Poznań on August 2, 1912. In 1935 he graduated from the University of Poznan with a degree in law, during World War II he took part in the Warsaw Uprising. After the war, as early as 1945, he returned to Poznan where he became a research and teaching staff member at the University of Poznan, where he held numerous positions including rector. He was a member of the Sejm and a member of the "Pax" Association. From 1982 to 1985 he was a member of the Council of State.
On December 1, 1985, he became the First President of the Constitutional Court, and was also Chairman of the State Election Commission - including during the June 1989 elections.
