An impressive medal by prominent medalist Jan Höhn senior (signed IH on one of the plates).
The originals were minted during the reign of Ladislaus IV, around 1642, to commemorate the 1635 truce in Sztumska Ves.
An old, probably 19th-century copy.
Obverse: allegories of Faith (with a scepter with a solar shield) and Piety (with an olive branch) holding hands, with the panorama of Gdansk in the background, under the name of God in Hebrew letters, in the rim the legend:
FELIX TERRA FIDES PIETATI UBI IUNCTA TRIUMPHAT;
Reverse: allegories of Peace and Justice while kissing. Between the figures two plaques with the words DEO and PROXImO, in the rim legend:
PAX CUM IUSTITIA FORA TEMPIA ET RURA CORONAT;
