In Edward Raczynski's "Cabinet of Polish Medals", the following was written about the presented item: "Although at the end of the reign of Augustus III the party opposed to the court in Poland, with great strenuousness tried to repel the first minister of the king in Saxony, Count Brühl, who was encroaching on Polish offices and starosties, and considering the imaginary right of his indigeneity to be frail and imaginary, barred him and his sons access to public functions, However, after the death of both the king and the minister, the great qualities of his sons, which won the respect and love of all in Poland, made them so worthy and promising citizens that they decided to keep and appropriate them to themselves, and thus both brothers Frederick (here named Aloysius Frederick) and Charles, Graff Brühl, were granted indygenate in the Polish states by the constitution of the Coronation Sejm 1764.

In 1781 the crown artillery regiment, asked by the head of the regiment, general of artillery, Count Brühl, to hold his first-born son from a second marriage, born on June 16, 1781, for baptism, obtained from the king for the newborn a patent of lieutenant, which was offered as a godfather gift. To commemorate this event, the artillery corps made an effort to mint the medal described here."
