An exceptional official medal necklace in a small version of the Order of Ferdinand I, one of the highest decorations of the Kingdom of Romania, which was bestowed by King Ferdinand I in 1929. This rare piece made of gold-plated silver and multicolored enamel (green and blue) consists of alternating double gold links and decorated enameled crosses, in the middle of which is the cross of the order with the royal crown.
The piece bears several original hallmarks:
Romanian hallmark from the interwar period: triangle with royal crown (guarantee of high-quality silver, used around 1937-1947),
hallmark "ARG" (silver),
Workshop numbers: "33" and '15',
Jeweler's initials: "JRF" - Joseph Resch & Fii, official supplier to the Romanian royal family.
The medal necklace was awarded on special occasions to heads of state, members of foreign royal houses or high-ranking dignitaries during state ceremonies.
