National Aer ialCompetition Medal 1937 Medal for 2nd place in an aerial competition awarded to pilot Rudolf Weigl of the Lvov Aeroclub (on a RWD - 8 aircraft). Medal of Henryk Grunwald, signed (H.G.) on obverse made at the State Mint.

On the reverse: to P. Weigl Rudolf the pilot of the team which obtained the second place in the national air competition 1937, bronze. Diameter 60 mm. Condition 1/1-. Lettering: Strzałkowski 784 Very rare.

Pilot Eng. Rudolf Weigl born in 1914 in Yaroslavl. Graduate of Lviv Polytechnic, pre-war designer and technical manager of glider schools in Ustanova and Czerwony Kamień, participant in national glider and airplane competitions, prisoner of concentration camps. In 1948, he was transferred to Warsaw. In 1952 he died in an airplane accident near Szamotuly. Rudolf Weigl was the nephew of Prof. Rudolf Weigl, inventor of the antitrypan vaccine.
