Józef Aumiller (1892-1963) - Polish medalist and sculptor, designer of postage stamps and coins. In 1907-1910, he attended the School of Applied Art, taking drawing and sculpture courses from L. Dymitrowicz, F. Roliński, T. Skonieczny. He continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Until 1925, he worked in his own studio, creating bas-reliefs, tombstones, statuettes, portraits and designs for the metal industry. From 1925 to 1939 he was artistic director of the State Mint in Warsaw, where he organized and ran the medal-making department. Since 1951, he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He made numerous designs for coins and medals. He participated in TZSP exhibitions, foreign exhibitions, including in New York, Brussels, Prague, competitions of the Union of Professional Sculptors, receiving awards on several occasions. His works are in the National Museum in Cracow, Warsaw, Museum of Medallic Art in Wroclaw.
