A very nicely made 19th century galvanic copy of the 1658 medal issued to commemorate the liberation of Toruń from the Swedes.

Light rubbing of silver plating, dings and background blemishes.
Obverse: bust of the king in a laurel wreath to the right, wearing armor, with the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, under the bust signature IH; in the rim legend:
IOANNES CASIMIRUS D.G.REX POLONIAE & SUECIAE REX &c.;
Reverse: Hebrew inscription Jehovah among the clouds over the panorama of Toruń, next to fortifications, a military camp and a king on horseback. At bottom cartouche and signed I-H, in the rim legend:
M.D.C.LVIII./XXX DECEMBER (December 30, 1658), in the rim (flower) NUMINIS AUSPICYS ET REGIS FORTIBUS ARMIS.THORUNIUM PRISCO REDDITUR OBSEQUIO;
