Commemorative medal made in silver with a diameter of 33.5 mm. Obverse with visible bust and inscription around KAPITÊNLEUTNANT / OTTO WEDDIGEN L.GAR.LAUER NUERNBERG. The reverse shows an iron cross over a laurel branch, below it a U-Boat sailing at sea. Around as well as below the image of the submarine a visible inscription ( DEM ANDENKEN DES HELDENMÜTIGEN FÜHRERS S.M. UNTERSEEBOOTE // U9 UND U 29).
