Prize Medal of the Przemyśl Exhibition 1882.
Medal in bronze, diameter 57 mm, on the obverse profile of the head of Emperor Franz Joseph I in a laurel wreath to the right, around the inscription: FRANZ JOSEPH I. KAISER VON OESTERREICH. KOENIG VON BOEHMEN ETC., APOST. KOENIG VON UNGARN. On the reverse an allegorical scene with a mythological motif, around the inscription: EHRENPREIS DES K. K. HANDELS-MINISTERIUMS IN WIEN [award of the Imperial Royal Ministry of Commerce in Vienna]. Signed on both sides with the author's name: JOS. TAUTENHAYN. On the edge an inscription stamped with a concave stamp: WYSTAWA W PRZEMYŚLU 1882.
Condition bdb. Joseph Hermann Tautenhayn (1837-1911) Austrian sculptor and medalist, coin engraver, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, author of, among other things, statues for the University, Museum of Art and Parliament in Vienna.
Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition in Przemysl arranged from August 31 to September 1, 1882 on the initiative of the Galician Economic Society. Exhibits were presented in the departments of domestic industry (mainly weaving and basketry), agricultural tools and machinery.
