The map shows the area of Central Europe: Poland, Belarus, Ukraine up to the Crimea; Hungary, part of Bosnia and Bulgaria, with the course of the Danube to the Black Sea. Sebastian Münster (1488- 1552), German cartographer, cosmographer and scholar. His work, Cosmography of 1544, was the earliest German description of the world. It had many editions in various languages, including Latin, French, Italian, English and even Czech. Cosmography was one of the most successful and popular works of the 16th century. Traces of non. dampstain and stains, woodworm mark, margin understain on reverse.
