The map largely depicts the area of present-day France, as well as a portion of Great Britain with its capital Londinium, Germania and the Vistula River flowing through it. In the lower part the mountain ranges of the Alps in Italy and the Pyrenees range on the border with Spain.
In the lower left corner an ornate cartouche with the figure of Caesar standing on a hill and the rulers of the conquered territories offering him gifts.
Decorative, beautifully colored - making this a rare map from the 18th century.
