Silesian Wars. three wars between Empress Maria Theresa's Austria and Frederick II's Prussia, were fought in 1740-1742, 1744-1745 and 1756-1763 (the Seven Years' War). As a result of the Peace of Breslau, ending the First War, almost all of Austrian Silesia fell to Prussia, and this state was maintained until the end of World War II. In cartography, this gave impetus to the production of a significant number of large-scale topographic maps, depicting the various battles in detail, often with a phase breakdown. Thus began a new period of using maps to train officer cadres and develop historical cartography.
