[VOLHYNIA]. Basse Volhynie, ou Palatinat de Kiow, tiré entierement de la gra[n]de Ukraine, du Sieur la Vasseur de Beauplan.
Map of Volhynia by Nicolas Sanson d'Abeville, compiled on the basis of the great map of Ukraine by G. Beauplan, published in Paris in 1665 (this is the date in the cartouche). It was published as a loose map, later became part of the atlas "Cartes generales de toutes les parties du monde" (Paris 1665). Title in cartouche in lower left corner, sides of the world described inside the frame. Under the lower frame on the right the signature of the engraver "Somer Sculp". Line and surface color (woods, cartouche). On the back printed "17a", otherwise verso clean. Center fold of sheet, small fold of right margin, wide margins, very good condition.
