WILKOÑ Jozef (b. 1930) - [drawing, 1982] [landscape]; ca. 1982/watercolor, gouache on cardboard, dimensions 29.5 x 20 cm.
Original drawing, illustration design. Editorial annotations on the back, stamp of the censor's office. One of the pillars of the Polish school of illustration, internationally renowned artist. Graduate of art history at the Jagiellonian University (1954) and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He paints paintings, creates sculptures, sets, designs tapestries, but above all he is an illustrator. (...) He has illustrated nearly 120 publications for children and adults published in Poland and about 60 published abroad (his works are regularly published in Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan). (...) He has received numerous national and international awards. Among other awards, he received a gold medal at the IBA International Exhibition of Editorial Art in Leipzig (1959), a gold medal at the Biennale of Illustration in Bratislava (1969), the Premio Grafico in Bologna (1989) and the Grand Prix in Montreuil (1991).
