Wanda Wedecka (1919 -2011) was born in 1919 in Gomel and died in 2011 in Warsaw. From 1945 to 1951 she studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland.Wanda Wedecka primarily painted somewhat unreal compositions of dried flowers painted against neutral or abstract backgrounds, less often she took up the subjects of still life, landscape and nude. The artist also made abstract paintings, in which she often used thick impasto, coming somewhat close to the trend of matter painting. In her work, Wanda Wedecka used a rather dark, dim color palette. The painter took part in group exhibitions, and had several individual exhibitions, including in Torun, Plock and Brussels.
