Stefan Gierowski (1925-2022) - Polish painter, illustrator, representative of the modern avant-garde; known mainly as an abstractionist. From 1962 to 1996 he taught at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, from 1975 to 1981 he was dean of the Faculty of Painting. Winner of the 1980 Janusz Cybis Award.Stefan Gierowski's painting is characterized by geometric abstraction, exploration of light, space and color. He created compositions with intense, varied colors, emphasizing the relationship of colors and structures. Gierowski focused on the autonomy of the image, moving away from narrative in favor of pure form and the emotions evoked by color. His works are characterized by minimalist harmony and precision, which at the same time exude subtle dynamics. The artist considered painting as a medium that enables a metaphysical experience, exploring the limits of the viewer's perception. Condition as shown in photos.
