Emil Polit - born 11.10.1940 in Zmysłowka. In 1959-1965 he studied at the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He received his diploma in the painting studio of Prof. Waclaw Taranczewski. He had 12 solo exhibitions of painting and participated in about 120 group exhibitions at home and abroad. He was a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Przemyśl. He was awarded the bronze medal of the Bielska Jesien, the second prize in the International Biennale of Painting Silver Quadrangle and the Prize of the Mayor of the City of Rzeszow. Emil Polit's works are in the collections of the National Museum in Przemyśl, BWA, institutions and private individuals in Poland, USA, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Canada, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland. He died on 04.01.2024. He was posthumously awarded the Golden Cross of Merit by Polish President Andrzej Duda for his merits in artistic and creative activity.
