"Horse-drawn carriage".
Oil painting on canvas, size: 63 x 93 cm., all in frame size: 80 x 108 cm.
Edward Pierzynski born in 1922. Well-known Polish painter, battle painter. He created mainly oil compositions. He most often turned to battle themes, scenes from battles of Polish armies or winter scenes showing horse-drawn carriages or wolf attacks on sleds.
Large oil painting painted on canvas. It depicts an expressive scene of sledders (troika) harnessed to horses. The perfectly captured plasticity of the figures and animals, the dynamism of the composition and the subtle nuances of color are characteristic of this exquisite painting. With the help of a sophisticated range of colors and a wonderful play of chiaroscuro, bringing out the effect of depth, the winter aura of the borderland landscape was delightfully rendered.
