Paulina Zalewska graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz . She defended her diploma in Prof. Krzysztof Wawrzyniak's Workshop Graphic Arts Studio, and made an annex to her diploma under the supervision of Prof. Ryszard Hungert in the Painting Studio.
In 2006, she participated in a graphic design workshop at the KAUS Artistic Graphics Center in Urbino, Italy, where she was also awarded a scholarship.
The artist herself says of her work:
"Through artwork I continue my inquiries and fascinations about the perception of the real world around us in correlation with imagination and daydreams. Consciously using archetypal representations, I try to build the "first" emotions of the viewer, but it is the use of color that is the dominant factor. The play of colors juxtaposed with the expressiveness but also surrealism of the composition is meant to fascinate. In my works I try to combine realism of representation, surrealism of composition and color being "pure form" of my imagination. The simplicity of the representation, juxtaposed with the surreal composition on the border between reality and dream, and the expressive colors are supposed to 'draw' the viewer into another world, a parallel world."
