Signed p.d.: Olbinski
Rafal Olbinski, one of the artists most recognized in Poland and around the world, builds his paintings from motifs that are well known to viewers (as in this case: a woman, the moon, a city). However, he juxtaposes them in an unusual way, giving them a new meaning. He creates surreal scenes, referring to the best artists of this direction, such as René Magritte.
The use of classical form and well-known motifs makes us feel safe with Olbinski's paintings, and as André Parinaud (president of the International Poster Salon in Washington) said: Each of Olbinski's paintings opens up a world of delights of new discoveries. It makes us flow through clouds, flowers, beautiful shapes and believe that we ourselves are characters from a fairy tale.
