Oil on canvas, dimensions: 130 x 90 cm, signed pdr M. Kliszewska and signed on the reverse Martyna Kliszewska
Martyna Kl iszewska - painter and actress graduate of the acting department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and the painting department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.
For years she has successfully reconciled her work in the theater with her creative activity as a painter. She has presented her paintings during solo exhibitions at, among others, the Kuratorium Gallery in Warsaw, the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Czestochowa, the Aperia Design gallery in Warsaw, the POSK gallery in London, the 20th Star Festival in Miedzyzdroje and the TA3 Gallery during the Night of Museums in Warsaw 2019.
In the theater, she worked with notable artists min. Kazimierz Dejmek, Mikołaj Grabowski, Tadeusz Słobodzianek or Michał Urbaniak.
In 2005- 2007 she was engaged in applied art. In 2005, at RED Gallery in Cracow, she exhibited several unique lamps of her own design, which were received with appreciation by Cracow critics ( Andrzej Warzecha " W świetlistym kręgu. Hanging and standing lamps by Martyna Kliszewska" Dziennik Polski Kraków). A year later in 2006, she began working with Warsaw's OPERA Applied Art Gallery, where she exhibited more light objects. Since 2009, she returned to painting turning to themes related to the world of flora. Processed floral compositions and a sublime color palette have become her own painting language. The latest Theater Project, the performance " FRIDA. Life Art Revolution" became an attempt to combine the artist's acquired experience in both creative activities. Kliszewska, impersonating Frida Kahlo on stage, at the same time puts herself in the position of a contemporary painting artist, creating an acting, but also a painting voice in the monodrama, which is a meeting point of various fields that do not respect genre boundaries.
Martyna Kliszewska's works can be found in France, Italy, Germany, the United States and in several private collections of Polish Contemporary Art.
