Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma under Prof. J. Modzelewski). In 2009 she defended her doctoral thesis under the title "City before the storm". In 2005 and 2007 she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Since 2008, she has been working at the Institute of Art Education of the M. Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education. In 2017 she was awarded a postdoctoral degree. I paint architecture and cityscapes. I depict objects realistically, ascetically and without staffage, I am interested in forgotten relics of social modernism and modernism. Maria Kiesner's paintings are in the collections of the Lubuska and Lublin Zachęta art collections, the Museum of the City of Warsaw, the Nadwiślańskie Museum and the National Museum in Gdańsk.
