Painting in a wooden frame with canvas passe-partout depicting typical still life elements: a ceramic teapot on a saucer) and a fruit (apple or peach). The thick brushstrokes create an almost impressionistic view, while the colorful, blurred background isolates the objects from their context.
Lucjan Lejman (1891-1973) is a Polish painter. Graduate of St. Petersburg and Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1960, he was the organizer of the "Zalesie" art group. The artist mainly took up the subjects of still life and landscapes; he was characterized by thick brushstrokes, which translated into the expressive texture of oil paint.
