Biography
Works with easel and wall paintings, as well as theatrical and film scenography; author of experimental videos, objects, installations, multimedia art-sound performances, prints. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and continued at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where he earned a degree in painting in the studio of Prof. Zbigniew Karpinski in 1985. In 1986 he had his first painting exhibition, which was organized by the leader of the Orange Alternative - "Major" Frydrych. He was one of the most representative representatives of New Expressionist painting, and his works were exhibited in the most important expositions of this trend: "Expression of the 1980s" (Sopot, 1986), "Radical Realism. Concrete expression" (Warsaw, 1987). He is currently a professor in the Painting and Drawing studio at his alma mater, renamed the Academy of Fine Arts in 1996. He received the Main Prize and Special Prize for the film Change at the Film Beyond Cinema festival (Wroclaw, 1985). In 2002, the artist was honored with the First Degree Award of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw.
