Konstanty Gorbatovsky (Kiev, September 19, 1914 - Gdansk, September 29, 1984) - painter; studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk under Krystyna and Juliusz Studnicki and Kazimierz Śramkiewicz (graduated in 1955). He was involved in easel and wall painting. He has had many solo exhibitions at home and abroad; his works are in museum collections, including: National Museum in Warsaw, National Museum in Gdansk, Museum of Modern Art in Rome, and in private collections around the world. After the artist's death, a retrospective exhibition was held at Zachęta. Gorbatovsky's paintings were particularly popular and appreciated in Italy, where he was called a "romantic surrealist."
