"Short cuts" - have many translations: quick access, short stories, simple paths, shortcuts. Igor Tishin reopens the phenomenon of the "sketchbook," this time opening an imaginary book, but offering the viewer only fragments of it. The works presented on small-format paper are hybrids of various techniques from watercolor to collage, each telling its own existential story with tragicomic characters. The moment of any pure experience - fear, shock, compassion, anxiety - is a window to insight into life. BIOGRAM: 1958- born in Belarus
1983- graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk.
1997- scholarship from the Pro Helvetia Foundation, (Kunstlerhaus Boswil), Switzerland.
Since 1999- lives and works in Brussels.
