Dawid Masionek (born 1994 in Lubliniec)
Painter, illustrator, Master of Fine Arts, graduate of the Jan Długosz University of Humanities and Sciences in Częstochowa in 2019, studio of Prof. Jarosław Kweclich. Fascinated by monumental Gothic architecture - this is one of the main inspirations for his work. He paints paintings with a spatula, exploring the same areas repeatedly, covering the canvas with successive layers of paint, in order to later discover newer and newer qualities of color, light, dynamism through multi-step interference with the applied paint. Expressive painting is complemented by drawing activities - he willingly reaches for ink and nib, believing that the painter's eye is educated primarily through the skilled hand of the draughtsman. Author of many group exhibitions (including several editions of the exhibition Painters and Drawers at the Regional Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts - "Conductor House" in Czestochowa) and individual exhibitions. During his studies, he was an active member of the painters' scientific circle, operating at the Department of Painting at AJD in Czestochowa. He currently devotes his free time to studying theology. He draws handfuls from this area both in his individual spiritual and artistic development - he is no stranger to metaphysical themes, which he willingly undertakes in his art.
