Original drawing, book illustration design. Bohdan Butenko (1931-2019) - one of the most important artists of the Polish book specializing in illustration for children. He is called the "architect of the book", because he was one of the first to treat a book in a holistic way, designing it to the smallest detail. He graduated in graphic design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1955). From 1955 to 1963 he was the art editor of Nasza Księgarnia. Later he worked with many publishing houses, including Ruch and Krajowa Agencja Wydawnicza, including as chief graphic designer of the children's and youth literature department, as well as magazines: "Miś", "Świerszczyk", "Świat", "Świat Młodych", "Sztandar Młodych". He has illustrated nearly 300 books.
