Bogdan Antoni Meleniewski was a student of Jacek Malczewski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1915-1921). He continued his studies in Paris, Munich and Holland until finally settling in Rome, where he spent seven years. From 1933 he was a member of the Cracow Branch of the ZZPAP, at which time he was invited as an expert for the conservation of Queen Jadwiga's crucifix in Wawel Cathedral. He participated in exhibitions in Italy, including Rome (1928, 1930). In 1929 he exhibited thirteen pastel views of Rome and Cracow at the TPSP in Cracow, in 1930 he had a solo exhibition in Warsaw at Czeslaw Garlinski Salon (views of Rome, pastels). Meleniewski was essentially a pastelist and gained popularity as a painter of Polish souvenirs in Rome. Today few of his works are known. SAP lists two pastels in the Lithuanian Art Museum in Vilnius and one painting in the National Museum in Poznan. // after artinfo.pl
