Barbara Szubinska studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1952 to 1958, in the studio of Prof. Stanislaw Szczepanski and Prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski. She received her diploma in 1958. In 1964-1966 she was active in the "Rekonesans" art group. In 1968 she was a scholarship holder of the French government. Since 1992 she has been a teacher, teaching at the European Academy of Arts and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology, where she headed the painting studio. Her works are in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Cracow, and the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw, among others. "I would like my art to be for others what their work is for me. I can't separate painting from other media in art. Because they are the ones that inspire me. When I paint a picture, for example, I think that I would like it to be as formed as a symphony. That it should have elements of color, but also sound, rhythm."
