Antoni Stanisław Kowalski studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - Branch in Katowice, where in 1982 he received a diploma with a medal in the Graphic Design Studio of Prof. Tomasz Jura and in the Painting Studio of Associate Professor Jerzy Duda Gracz. He made his debut as a satirical cartoonist, winning one of the awards at the National Student Drawing Biennial in Katowice in 1979. He also designed posters. At the same time, he painted, winning, among others, second prize at the National Spychalski Painting Competition in Poznan in 1988 and an award at the International Art Competition, Pyramid Gallery, New York 1990. He has had many exhibitions abroad, including in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. He is represented in the collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art and in other American and Polish collections. He works with the prestigious Galerie Morpheus in Beverly Hills, specializing in fantasy art and magical realism, which also represents artists such as Zdzislaw Beksinski, Ernst Fuchs, Jacek Yerka. In 1994, he joined the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw as a lecturer.
In 2009 he was awarded the title of professor of fine arts. Currently a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Member of the Association of International Triennale of Graphics in Krakow. Numerous artistic journeys in Europe , USA, China. Lives and works in Katowice.
