Biography
In 1977-80 he studied in the studio of Barbara Jonscher, and in 1980-85 at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of Prof. Jacek Sienicki. He defended his diploma with honors in 1985. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and Art (1985-86). In 1985-88, he was an assistant at his alma mater, and then (until 1991) headed the Drawing Studio at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He had about 30 solo exhibitions (Warsaw, Berlin, Frankfurt, Thun, Paris, Łowicz, Essen, Kalisz) and participated in dozens of group shows (Ostend, Basel, Poznań, Wrocław, Berlin, Frankfurt, Grevenbroich, Hamm, Strasbourg). In 1991, he purchased from the city of Lowicz a dilapidated, historic evangelical church, where (after renovation and adaptation) he arranged the Browarna Gallery. In 1994 he co-founded the Mazovian Social and Cultural Foundation. He has served as the organization's president from 1998 until today.
