Andrzej Biernacki (Lowicz 1958, lives in Michalowek near Nieborow) - painter. From 1977-1980 he studied in the studio of Barbara Jonscher, and from 1980-85 at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of Prof. Jacek Sienicki. He received his diploma with honors in 1985. He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Arts (1985/86). In 1985-88 he was an assistant at his alma mater, and then (until 1991) headed the Drawing Studio at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He had about 30 solo exhibitions (Warsaw, Berlin, Frankfurt, Thun, Paris, Łowicz, Essen, Kalisz) and participated in dozens of group shows (Ostend, Basel, Poznań, Wrocław, Berlin, Frankfurt, Grevenbroich, Hamm, Strasbourg).
In 1991, he purchased from the city of Lowicz a dilapidated, historic evangelical church, where (after renovation and adaptation) he arranged the Browarna Gallery. In 1994 he co-founded the Mazovian Social and Cultural Foundation.
