The Dresden-based artist, born in 1982, received his diploma in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden in 2011. A painter interested in rural architecture since his college days, his architectural paintings are extremely precisely painted studies of East German architecture, enriched with numerous details and sometimes telling humorous and surreal stories. In his current paintings, he devotes himself to reinterpreting famous masterpieces, such as Caspar David Friedrich's painting and Jean-Étienne Liotard's "The Chocolatier," works of art in Dresden's art collection. In this series, the artist explores the style and colors of painting and repaints classic canvases in a contemporary way. The artist is dedicated to changing the content of the painting or alienating the painting.
